La ciberseguridad se refiere a las medidas que se toman para proteger nuestros dispositivos, datos y sistemas del acceso no autorizado. Imagina que alguien intentara robar tu información personal o financiera; la ciberseguridad es lo que nos ayuda a evitar que eso ocurra. Aunque muchos piensan que este tipo de amenazas solo afecta a grandes corporaciones, la realidad es que todos estamos expuestos. Cualquier persona con un teléfono móvil, una computadora o una cuenta en redes sociales es vulnerable.
Cybersecurity refers to the measures taken to protect our devices, data and systems from unauthorized access. A nivel global, se estima que hay un déficit de 3.9 millones de profesionales en ciberseguridad. En pocas palabras, no hay suficientes expertos para protegernos de los riesgos cibernéticos. Esta falta de personal es una preocupación seria, ya que las amenazas en línea siguen creciendo y evolucionando.
En México, se necesitan aproximadamente 116,000 profesionales en este campo. Y aunque la demanda es alta, hay una escasez de personas preparadas para asumir esos puestos. Lo interesante es que esta situación, aunque preocupante, representa una gran oportunidad para quienes buscan una carrera en tecnología.
Globally, there is an estimated shortfall of 3.9 million cybersecurity professionals. Simply put, there are not enough experts to protect us from cyber risks. This lack of personnel is a serious concern as online threats continue to grow and evolve.
In Mexico, approximately 116,000 professionals are needed in this field. And while demand is high, there is a shortage of people prepared to take on these positions. The interesting thing is that this situation, although worrisome, represents a great opportunity for those seeking a career in technology.

El salario medio de un analista de ciberseguridad a nivel global ronda los 122,000 dólares al año. Es una de las áreas con más crecimiento y mejores remuneraciones dentro del sector tecnológico. Sin embargo, el desafío es que muchas personas aún no están al tanto de esta oportunidad, y menos en países como México, donde el déficit es notorio. En esta entrevista, nos sumerge en su mundo musical, compartiendo los orígenes de su nombre, su evolución artística y sus experiencias en el vibrante mundo de la música electrónica.

Have Sisters? / How did the idea for Robots Don’t Have Sisters come about?
Yo vivía en Montreal y tengo una hermana a quien le llamé en uno de sus cumpleaños y al preguntarle qué quería de regalo y ella me pidió que regresara a Guadalajara para vivir con la familia, ese fue un golpe al corazón porque es mi única hermana y ya los extrañaba mucho pero aun no podía regresarme, una compañera del trabajo me preguntó por qué me veía tan triste y le platiqué el motivo cerrando con un “No te preocupes, i am Robot” y ella me contestó “Bro, Robot don´t have sisters” y se me quedó muy grabada la frase, y cuando estaba culminando mi primer proyecto en la era de MySpace decidí que ese sería mi nombre.
I was living in Montreal and I have a sister who I called on one of her birthdays and when I asked her what she wanted as a present and she asked me to come back to Guadalajara to live with the family, that was a blow to the heart because she is my only sister and I missed them a lot but I still couldn’t go back, A coworker asked me why I looked so sad and I told her why, closing with “Don’t worry, I am Robot” and she answered “Bro, Robots don’t have sisters” and the phrase stuck with me, and when I was finishing my first project in the MySpace era I decided that would be my name.
¿Qué opinas sobre la evolución de la música en la industria electrónica y cómo ha impactado en tus proyectos como DJ? /What are your thoughts on the evolution of music in the electronic industry and how has it impacted your projects as a DJ?
Es algo bien cierto, la música electrónica te habla de vanguardia, en tecnología y como tal siempre está evolucionando sobre todo porque la gente cada vez tiene más acceso para llegar a la música y cada vez es más la gente que está innovando y fusionando cosas muy extrañas, por lo que es evidente que en México estamos en un punto muy padre por la inversión en sonidos nuevos, incluso en mi carrera, ya son 16 años con mi proyecto y es curioso porque puedes ver una evolución en cuanto a los géneros musicales, como artista electrónico esto nunca para, siempre habra un sonido nuevo y es gracias a la tecnología que nos inspira en generar sonidos nuevos.
It is something very true, electronic music speaks of avant-garde, technology and is always evolving especially because people increasingly have more access to music and more people are innovating and merging very strange things, so it is clear that in Mexico we are in a very cool point by investing in new sounds. Even in my career, it’s been 16 years with my project and it’s curious because you can see an evolution in terms of musical genres, as an electronic artist this never stops, there will always be a new sound and it’s thanks to technology that inspires us to generate new sounds.
¿Cómo describes tu estilo de música y en qué géneros te especializas? /How do you describe your style of music and what genres do you specialize in?
Yo comencé siendo músico, soy súper fan del Punk, del Hardcore, del Nu metal mi sonido está enfocado en ser agresivo, busca sacar el demonio interno en cada show, mi sonido es una terapia de shock, con vertientes como el Trap, el Dubstep, el Hardstyle, todos dentro de la línea de lo agresivo, llevando al punk al lado electrónico.
I started as a musician, I’m a big fan of Punk, Hardcore, Nu metal, my sound is focused on being aggressive, it seeks to bring out the inner demon in each show, my sound is a shock therapy, with aspects such as Trap, Dubstep, Hardstyle, all within the line of aggressive, taking punk to the electronic side.

Se ha vuelto comercial por la aceptación, hoy en día es más fácil llegar a las masas y ver a artistas como Marshmello tener conciertos con niños de 10, 13 años que siguen su música desde chiquitos, es un fenómeno global alcanzable, ahora es más común ver festivales en países donde no existía la electrónica y fusiones de géneros como el corrido tumbado con la música electrónica ¡Es una locura!
It has become commercial because of the acceptance, nowadays it is easier to reach the masses and see artists like Marshmello having concerts with 10, 13 year old kids that follow his music since they are little kids, it is a global phenomenon that can be reached, now it is more common to see festivals in countries where electronic music didn’t exist and fusions of genres like corridos tumbados with electronic music is crazy!
Hablando de colaboraciones y presentaciones ¿Cómo fue compartir escenario con Skrillex? /Speaking of collaborations and performances, what was it like to share the stage with Skrillex?
Cuando sucede este concierto, que fue cuando Skrillex vino por primera vez a México, sucedía en una época en la cual aún no había festivales de música en el país y era impresionante ver a un DJ como Skrillex lograr una inmensa convocatoria como si fuera un artista POP. Definitivamente ese concierto me dio visibilidad y me abrió las puertas al grado que ahora puedo vivir de la música.
When this concert happened, which was when Skrillex came to Mexico for the first time, it was at a time when there were still no music festivals in the country and it was impressive to see a DJ like Skrillex achieve a huge attendance as if he were a POP artist. That concert definitely gave me visibility and opened doors for me to the extent that now I can make a living from music.

ha sido la presentación que más importancia tiene en tu carrera?
/What has been the most important presentation in your career?
La primera, la verdad he tocado hasta para 55 mil personas pero siempre he pensado que mi primer presentación aunque fue en un lugar muy pequeño en Guadalajara ha sido la más importante debido a que ahí perdí el miedo, ahí presenté mi propuesta por primera vez, conocí la sensación de tocar para un público y recibí por primera vez la buena vibra y el agradecimiento de los presentes que disfrutaron del set.
The first one, the truth is I have played for up to 55 thousand people but I have always thought that my first presentation although it was in a very small place in Guadalajara has been the most important because I lost my fear, there I presented my proposal for the first time, I knew the feeling of playing for an audience and I received for the first time the good vibes and the gratitude of those present who enjoyed the set.
